A Study of Process Languages for Planning Tasks

چکیده
We present the semantics of processes for planning tasks. We target Task-Method-Knowledge (TMK) process models, a widely used formalization of processes. These semantics are formalized by proving that Task-Method-Knowledge (TMK) process models can be translated into equivalent Hierarchical Task Networks (HTNs). We construct a Turing-computable translation function that maps TMK process model constructs to equivalent HTN constructs. We leverage well-known results from HTN planning to define soundness, completeness and complexity results for

EFL Learner’s Evaluation of Writing Tasks in Iran’s TOEFL and IELTS Preparation Courses in Light of the Process-oriented Approach
The purpose of this research was to analyze EFL writing tasks in two of the most popular English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) exam preparation courses in Iran, namely IELTS and TOEFL. Having collected the criteria of writing task appropriateness in light of the process-oriented approach to writing instruction, we asked 60 learner participants to rate EFL writing tasks in 3 IELTS and 3...
متن کاملWriters on the Move: Visualizing Composing Processes Involved in Academic Writing
The present research study aimed to explore covert processes of editing and revision which were involved in writing four different academic text genres (i.e. abstract, conclusion, data commentary, and cover letter) in English language. To this end, six EFL learners with Persian as their mother were recruited to participate in this study. All the participants attended an induction session and ea...
متن کاملTask Complexity Manipulation and EFL learners’ interactions in the process of collaborative pre-planning
Today, learners’ interaction and collaborative task performance have attracted increasing attention from language teachers and researchers. The present study investigated whether collaborative pre-planning, task complexity manipulation, and language proficiency level play a role in learners’ interactions. To this end, 128 EFL learners from two different language proficiency levels carried out t...
متن کاملStreamlining the planning approval process for a sustainable urban development: A case study for unwinding man-made complexities
The urban development process displays regressive tacit-dominant knowledge areas and their tacit level would impede their movements during multi-level knowledge transfers among stakeholders. The accuracy of a knowledge may be distorted when recipient stakeholders fail to understand a specific knowledge for its purpose. Earlier studies by the authors had highlighted complex yet dynamic environme...
